Vikings blow away Cyclones to book Hoopla ticket
The score at halftime of the 4A regional game on Saturday wasn’t pretty, as there was already a 31-point margin.
When the final buzzer went, the North Battleford Comprehensive Vikings senior girls basketball team had put 80 points on the board, to Moose Jaw Central’s 30.
“I have a lot of confidence in the girls right now [and] I would have been really disappointed if we hadn’t have won,” Vikings head coach Bryan Cottini said after the win. “I guess it’s just another step on the path to where we want to end up.”
Making the provincial tournament is good, but also expected for the Vikings. That’s why the real test will come next week, when they tip off against the Peacock Toilers from Moose Jaw in the 4A semis, a team that is the three-time defending 4A provincial champions.
