A little something for everyone at the Agrimex

Apr 7, 2017 | 5:00 PM

The Agrimex isn’t just about agricultural supplies and farm equipment anymore. There is something that is bound to interest anyone at the annual event.

The Battlefords Ag Society is putting on its 32nd annual Agrimex trade show in North Battleford. The event started yesterday and will run until tomorrow night.

Jocelyn Ritchie is the general manager for the Battlefords Ag Society and is proud they sold out all their booths again.

“We actually have a full house again which is over 100 exhibitors,” Ritchie said. “There are lots of stuff outside to see and great homemade food. There is something for everyone I would encourage everyone to come down.”

Ritchie said the turnout has been great the first couple of day and expects Saturday to be just as good if not better. She added the main goal of the Agrimex is to get people in the community familiar with all the services accessible locally.

“We do have something very cool that I should mention,” Ritchie said. “We have a robotic lawnmower. So basically you put it on your lawn and it does everything for you. It is like a Roomba but a lawnmower version.”

The lawnmower is designed to maintain your lawn, cutting millimeters of grass at a time and runs all day and night. The one on display lasts about an hour and a half before it recharges which it will do on its own.

The Agrimex this year has everything from agricultural equipment to makeup stands with beauticians to help anyone wanting a makeover. The SPCA even has a booth with some puppies and kittens on display.

Ritchie wanted the public to know there will be a free pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday morning. Anyone who buys a ticket to get into the trade show will be entered intoa  draw to win a queen sized box spring and mattress, an iPhone 7 with 128 MB’s of memory and a Samsung tablet.

The show will run until 8 p.m. tonight and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow.
