City presents first part of 2017 budget
After seeing a lot of growth in 2016, including announcements of a new hotel and movie theatre, the city of North Battleford is in the planning stages for next year.
The Department of Leisure Services and the Department of Planning and Development presented their budgets to city council Nov. 30 in the first of three meetings to deliberate the 2017 budget.
Leisure services’ draft budget sees an overall increase of one per cent in 2017, while planning and development is actually down 24 per cent.
City manager Jim Puffalt said a key highlight for planning and development in the 2017 budget is the Killdeer subdivision, which the city took over after a developer abandoned the project.
