Suspect flees after confronting residents with a knife

A man allegedly confronted people with a knife at a North Battleford residence Tuesday before fleeing.

Battlefords RCMP received a report of an altercation at a residence on 100th St. at roughly 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 29, according to a news release.

Complainants said the man confronted them with a knife, then fled without incident. The suspect is described as tall and wearing a grey hoodie. He is believed to have been intoxicated during the incident.

There were also several break-and-enter incidents to residences and businesses on Tuesday.

At roughly 8:30 a.m. RCMP responded to an activated alarm at a business on Territorial Dr. Police said it appeared a suspect had attempted to gain entry to the business via a rear door, which activated the alarm. The suspect fled, leaving damage to the door handle.

A break-in to another North Battleford business was reported in the afternoon. Police did not say whether anything was damaged or taken from the business on 103rd St.

RCMP responded to two residential break-ins, both of which had televisions stolen from them. One residence on 101st St. had a flat-screen television stolen from it between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The other residence on 107th St. reported a smart television stolen sometime throughout the day.

Police also arrested a man Tuesday trying to gain access to a residence on 110th St. at roughly 8 p.m. RCMP responded to a report of an unwanted and unknown man trying to access a residence. The 33-year-old man faces two charges of mischief, one charge of resisting arrest and two charges of failing to comply with a probation order.
