Nov 25, 2016 | 10:17 AM

UPDATE: Power was restored for Glaslyn, Turtleford, Paradise Hill and Meadow Lake areas. Estimated time for power to be returned to Loon Lake, Pierceland, Spiritwood, Rabbit Lake, Leoville, Debden areas is at 4 p.m. Estimated time for power to be returned to Buffalo Narrows, Beauval, Ile-a-la-Crosse, La Loche, Dillon, Canoe Narrows is at 5 p.m.

UPDATE at 1 p.m. – Power was briefly restored for Meadow Lake and Flying Dust First Nation before a second outage.

A spokesperson from SaskPower confirmed crews are investigating where else the outage remains in effect.

Many communities across northwest Saskatchewan are without power right now.

SaskPower is calling it a “transmission outage,” and they are unsure of how many communities are affected. A media relations spokesperson said the company received over 2,000 calls so they believe it is widespread.

Crews are out trying to determine where the problem occurred and won’t know how long power will be out until the source is found.

Communities around Meadow Lake and Flying Dust First Nation are without power but communities South around North Battleford still have power.

BattlefordsNOW will have updates as they come.
