Fountain in Central Park to be removed and replaced with concrete slab
The fountain downtown is an eye sore but it couldn’t be renovated even if the city wanted to.
City council has decided the fountain in North Battleford’s Central Park will be torn down to make way for a stamped concrete slab.
Bill Samborksi, director of leisure services, said a new fountain couldn’t be installed due to recent construction in the area.
“The reason there will be no new fountain is because when… the street water main (was redone) on 101st St. the water was turned off to the fountain and wasn’t reconnected,” Samborski said. “This is a nice alternative.”
