Battleford council considers next steps after traffic study
The Town of Battleford mayor says he is discouraged by the results of a recent traffic study examining concerns about traffic safety in the community.
In June, Battleford council received a request from a resident to consider replacing yield signs with stop signs along 1st and 2nd avenues between 22nd and 12th streets.
The submission pointed to increased pedestrian traffic in the area, including children travelling to and from school, families using the neighbourhood for recreation and residents accessing amenities such as the pump track.
Following the request, administration recommended conducting a traffic study to assess conditions and determine whether increased enforcement could address the concerns before making changes to traffic controls.
