Fairway friendship drives launch of women’s golf apparel brand

What started as a friendship on the fairway has turned into a business venture for two North Battleford women.

Clarissa Scheidl and Jacy Worobec are the founders of Threeputt Golf Co., a new women’s golf apparel company focused on comfort, style and inclusivity.

“One day we were kind of complaining about how we could never find anything we wanted to wear,” Scheidl said. “Everything was outdated or overpriced or just didn’t match the style we wanted to portray when we were out on the course.”

The pair realized they were not alone in wanting modern, comfortable golf apparel designed for women.

“The dreaming part was fun, but finding people to actually execute the vision of what we wanted to create and creating patterns and sizes took a while,” Scheidl added.

From sourcing manufacturers to testing fabrics and refining designs, the women spent months building the brand from scratch. Many design choices came from the pair’s own experiences as golfers, with small details becoming major priorities throughout the process.

“For example, I hated the way that the cusp of the sleeves in a typical golf shirt would fit my arms; they would kind of ride up,” Scheidl said. “So, we made sure to extend the sleeves and create a wider cuff.”

Creating a size-inclusive brand was also important. The company offers apparel from extra small to 3XL.

“We wanted to make sure that everyone has something that they can wear and feel comfortable in,” Worobec said.

She noted that many women struggle to find plus-size golf apparel, a gap they wanted to address through thoughtful fit and construction, including adjustments to waistbands and stitching for added comfort.

The attention to detail extended beyond the clothing itself, with the company also spending significant time developing its branding and visual identity.

After months of planning and design work, the first collection launched this week and has already drawn strong support.

“There’s no words to describe it other than grateful,” Worobec said. “We’ve been in complete awe of just the support that we’ve had from everybody.”

Orders have come in from across Canada, while local businesses have helped showcase the new brand. Apparel is available online and locally at Aurora Boutique, Jackfish Lodge and Home Hardware in Lloydminster.

“Small-town support is huge,” Scheidl said. “People in the Prairies really love to support local and help to push new businesses up the ladder.”

For Scheidl and Worobec, the launch of Threeputt Golf Co. represents more than a clothing line – it reflects a friendship, months of work and a shared belief that women golfers deserve apparel designed with them in mind.
