How a lifelong belief in volunteerism shaped Unity’s 2026 Citizen of the Year
“My mom was very involved in the community I grew up in. So, from a young age, I was taught the importance of it and I just see how successful things can be when you have strong volunteers and a strong group behind it to make things happen for the community.”
It is a lesson Sheena Weber learned growing up, and one that has guided much of her life since.
The Unity resident was named the community’s 2026 Citizen of the Year on May 29, recognized for years of volunteer work that has helped shape local sports, schools, childcare and community organizations.
“It’s a great accomplishment, and I’m very honoured.”
