BREAKING: Active shooter at Pelican Narrows clinic

RCMP officers are advising residents in Pelican Narrows of an active shooter who is on foot in the community.

Details are few, but a civil emergency alert issued at 2:30 this afternoon said there is an active shooter at the clinic in Pelican Narrows and the suspect is unknown. An update said the suspect is a man, wearing all black clothing and a face covering.

Residents are advised to find a safe location and lock their doors.

The incident comes just over a week after leadership of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation made a public plea for support due to an increased level of violence facing Pelican Narrows.
