The Edmonton Oilers have reportedly made a coaching change after the team’s early exit from the Stanley Cup playoffs.

According to TSN, Kris Knoblauch was fired on Thursday morning.

Knoblauch, who hails from Imperial, Sask., led Edmonton to two straight Stanley Cup final appearances before the club’s first-round playoff exit this season.

The 47-year-old coach was hired in November of 2023 after the club got off to a poor start, despite a lineup led by star players Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
