Peak-hour traffic stop leads to arrest in Lloydminster robbery case
A man accused of a violent vehicle robbery was arrested during a coordinated police stop in Lloydminster during peak traffic hours.
The incident began in the early morning hours of April 29 in the Rural Municipality of Britannia, where a robbery occurred between two individuals known to each other.
Police said a male suspect, armed with a weapon, assaulted the victim and stole his car.
At about 5 p.m. that day, officers located the vehicle near 36 Street and 52 Avenue and conducted a coordinated traffic stop, safely arresting the man believed to be connected to the robbery.
