North Stars look to take commanding series lead in Game 4 vs Yorkton

Apr 8, 2026 | 1:48 PM

After a 3-2 win over the Yorkton Terriers in Game 3, the Battlefords North Stars aim to go up 3-1 in the series when they host Game 4 on Wednesday.

The top line for the North Stars shined in Game 3 with Josh Knittig (2A), Anthony Campbell (1G-1A) and Finlay Klippenstein (1G-1A) all had two point nights. Knittig’s pair of points brought him to a total of 17 points (6G-11A), which leads the league.

Through eight games, Knittig still has a pace of more than two points per game with 2.13. Campbell (4G-9A-13P) and Klippenstein (5G-7A-13P) sit in second and third place in scoring league wide respectively. Klippenstein is tied in third for points with Terriers forward Gabriel Courchesne (2G-10A-12P) who leads Yorkton in scoring.

It has been an extremely tight series so far, with two of the three games decided by one goal and the other one being a two-goal game. Despite both teams averaging more than four goals per game during the regular season, neither squad has scored more than three goals in a game this series.

“A little bit different than maybe people would have predicted in terms of the high octane, high output of both teams,” said North Stars head coach Connor Logan.

“It’s been very tight margins, and I think it’s forced both teams to really dig into the details of their game and really pull some strings that both teams didn’t have to throughout the regular season.”

As the series has gone on, the animosity has started to build, and physicality is becoming more of a factor.

“It’s taken a little bit of time to get some traction in terms of the animosity, just two teams that haven’t seen a lot of each other and there’s not really much there. It builds over the course of a seven-game series. As tight as things have been, it’ll continue to build, and tonight’s a massive game.”

The North Stars aim to take a commanding 3-1 series lead when they host the Terriers in Game 4. Napa Auto Parts North Stars hockey begins at 7:30. The Ultra Print pregame show is half an hour before puck drop on CJNB/CJNS.
