Reflecting back on the last couple years, Stumpf said they’ve been the best years of his life.

“I’m so grateful to country radio and to all the people who stream my music and who come out to shows and all that kind of stuff because it has genuinely been life altering,” he said.

Canadians can vote daily until April 14, with public votes helping to decide the final three. From there, the top contenders will go on to perform on major stages throughout the summer

The top three finalists will perform at the CCMA’s Country Music Week in Saskatoon and the winner will be announced around the same time. Stumpf was asked what he would do with the prize money.

“You know what there’s a lot of stuff I have to fix on my truck so I might invest the money into my vehicle,” he said.

The final event will be broadcast live on SiriusXM’s Top of the Country Radio (ch. 171), allowing fans across the country to tune in.
