Battlefords RCMP investigates reckless fireworks use on Highway 16

Battlefords RCMP is investigating a report regarding careless use of fireworks.  

On March 28, around 11:35 p.m., RCMP received a report that individuals were setting off fireworks from a truck.  

The investigation determined that a group of people were travelling on Highway 16 and were setting off fireworks towards another vehicle.  

The individuals involved were located and spoken to by police with no injuries reported. RCMP also received reports of the sound of gunshots in the area, which were determined to be the fireworks.  

Battlefords RCMP is reminding the public that fireworks should always be used in a responsible manner. They encourage the community to consult their local bylaws, which may set out rules around firework use.
