Lockdown at NBCHS deemed unrelated to firearm report

Battlefords RCMP has determined a lockdown at North Battleford Comprehensive High School (NBCHS) was not linked to the report of an armed suspicious person.  

After further investigation, officers determined that the lockdown procedure was initiated within the school at approximately 3:25 p.m. 

At 3:27 p.m., RCMP received a report of a suspicious person with a possible firearm near the high school. 

Officers immediately responded, cleared the school, and ensured a safe evacuation. At 4:15 p.m., a man matching the description of the suspicious person was taken into custody, and no firearm was located.
