Man faces 20-plus charges after RCMP seize guns, drugs, thousands of rounds of ammunition
A large cache of firearms, ammunition and illicit drugs seized during a search by police on Thunderchild First Nation is at the centre of more than 20 charges laid against a 37-year-old man.
Turtleford RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on March 4. As part of an ongoing investigation, they seized a loaded handgun, an illegally modified firearm and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
Police also reported finding numerous firearm parts, including a loaded barrel capable of firing, along with a butterfly knife and nun chucks.
Investigators said officers additionally seized significant quantities of suspected drugs, including about 400 grams of methamphetamine, roughly 33 grams of crack cocaine and approximately 26 grams of cocaine.
