18-year-old charged with robbery following Battleford incident

An 18-year-old man is facing a robbery charge following an incident reported in Battleford over the weekend.

Battlefords RCMP say officers received a report of a robbery around 8 a.m. on March 14 at 19th Street West in Battleford. 

Police said a man entered a vehicle on the street, where an altercation occurred with the driver. Investigators allege the suspect took the driver’s cellphone before fleeing into a nearby residence. 

The driver did not report any physical injuries. Officers later arrested a suspect at the residence. 

The 18-year-old of Mosquito, Grizzly Bear’s Head, Lean Man First Nation, is charged with robbery. He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 30.
