Police presence at North Battleford motel amid alleged shooting death

A taxi driver in North Battleford has reportedly died following an alleged shooting early Friday morning, according to the owner of the company he worked for.

Haris Korath of Crown Cab said the incident allegedly happened after one of his drivers was dispatched for a pickup around 7:30 a.m.

The driver was sent to a local motel. Korath told battlefordsNOW “something happened there with the driver, and he got shot three times, and he passed away.”

RCMP have not yet confirmed any details, but officer could be seen conducting an active investigation in the area Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, in a social media post, Crown Cab described the deceased employee as “a dedicated member of our team and a hardworking driver who served our community every day.”
