WINLESS WEEKEND

North Stars blanked by Tritt in 4-0 loss to the Flin Flon Bombers

Mar 8, 2026 | 12:06 AM

The Battlefords North Stars were swept over the weekend by the Flin Flon Bombers, falling 4-0 in their Saturday night contest. Bombers goaltender Charlie Tritt had 34 saves in the shutout victory.

The North Stars had a powerplay opportunity late in the first period, but it was nullified when Finlay Klippenstein took an interference penalty on Reid Arberry just over halfway through the man advantage.

Shortly after the Bombers got onto the powerplay, it was Arberry who made the North Stars pay. Arberry walked into the zone on the right side before firing a shot towards North Stars goaltender Kaeden Serpa. Serpa got a good chunk of it, but the puck trickled past him and barely across the line for the Bombers to take the 1-0 lead at the 17:42 mark.

After one: 1-0 Bombers

5:21 into the second period, Arberry doubled down when he skated towards the net from the corner before going to the backhand and putting the puck over the shoulder of Serpa. Arberry’s second goal of the game and 22nd of the year put the Bombers up 2-0.

After just one powerplay the entire game the night before, the North Stars had three powerplay opportunities through the second period, but couldn’t capitalize on any of them and went into the final frame with a two-goal deficit.

After two: 2-0 Bombers

The North Stars started the third period on a man advantage that carried over from the second frame, but the Bombers were able to kill it off.

Just 2:32 into the frame, Jack Martin scored top shelf on Serpa’s glove side. Martin’s third goal in the two game series gave the Bombers a 3-0 lead.

A few minutes later on the power play, Xavier Fauchon put a puck on from the point that made its way past Serpa to make it 4-0 Bombers at 6:40.

Flin Flon was able to hang on for the rest of the way to take the victory.

Final score: 4-0 Bombers

A big factor in the win for Flin Flon was winning the special teams battle, holding the North Stars to 0/5 on the power play and going 2/3 on the man advantage themselves.

The win improved Flin Flons home record to 25-0-1-0 on the season.

As the SJHL regular season nears an end, the North Stars will end the year with a home-and-home with the Kindersley Klippers on March 12-13.
