The Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought in a former NFL defensive back.

Saskatchewan announced it has signed American defensive back Jerry Jacobs to a CFL contract.

Jacobs signed with the NFL’s Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He went on to appear in 40 games for the Lions, 29 of those being starts. He recorded 131 defensive tackles, nine tackles for loss, one sack, and four interceptions. He signed with the Los Angeles Rams in 2024, attending training camp with the club.

The Atlanta, Ga. product played most of his collegiate career in the state of Arkansas. He spent two seasons (2018-19) at Arkansas State where he appeared in 17 games for the Red Wolves. He has four interceptions in 2018 – the second-most in the Sun Belt conference. He then transferred to Arkansas where he appeared in five games for the Razorbacks.
