SaskEnergy, CMHA Battlefords host Share the Warmth Day highlighting mental health support
On Tuesday morning, SaskEnergy and Canadian Mental Health Association Battlefords Branch gathered to host the second of four Share the Warmth Days in Saskatchewan.
The event highlighted the work CMHA does to support individuals experiencing challenges related to mental health through their Group Peer Support Program.
Executive director for CMHA Battlefords Branch said the support program is different from going to see an accredited medical professional.
“Our peer support individual is a person that has lived mental health and or addictions experience, and they help support others to set their own goals. They do not give advice, so that’s a difference, but they do help them set goals, build their toolkits,” said Michele Winterholt.
