North Stars prepare for pair of matchups with Warman Wolverines
After a win against the Humboldt Broncos to snap a three-game skid, the Battlefords North Stars are facing off with the Warman Wolverines for a home-and-home weekend series.
The two teams have played five times so far this season. The North Stars have a 3-0-1-1 record against Warman. Last time the two teams played was a weekend series on Jan. 16-17 when the North Stars won the first game 4-3 in Warman. The Wolverines took the second matchup 5-4 in overtime in North Battleford.
The North Stars (26-11-3-2, 1st in Nutrien Division), have won 10 of the 14 games they have played in 2026, although they have fallen in three of their last four contests. In their last game, the North Stars took down the Humboldt Broncos 3-2 at home. Will Kirwan’s first SJHL goal was the game winner in the Tuesday victory.
On the other side, the Wolverines (11-27-2-2, 4th in Nutrien Division) have won just three of the 11 games they have played in the calendar year, although one of those victories came against the North Stars. Warman has lost three straight contests, most recently falling 5-1 to the Kindersley Klippers on Wednesday.
