The Battlefords North Stars currently have the second-longest winning streak in the league, and they look to extend that to seven straight wins when they head to Warman to face off with the Wolverines in a Nutrien Division matchup.

In their last stretch of four games in five days from Jan. 6 – 10, the North Stars came away with wins against the Nipawin Hawks, Weyburn Red Wings and Melfort Mustangs. Three of those four wins were comeback efforts. In their six-game win streak, four of them have been come from behind victories. The North Stars currently sit atop the Nutrien Division with a record of 21-8-2-2 (wins-losses-overtime losses-shootout losses).

Last time the North Stars faced off with the Wolverines was on Oct. 18, when Warman won 4-3 in a shootout. Oliver Nottingham had the shootout winner for the Wolverines in that game, while Josh Knittig and Kobe Sawyer netted a goal for the North Stars.

Knittig has been maybe the hottest skater in the league as of late, he had nine points (5G-4A) in his last four games and is on a 10-game point streak. That is the highest current point streak in the league and is tied for the third highest all season. Knittig is in second place in points on the North Stars with 35 (13G-23A) only behind team captain Anthony Campbell who has 36 points (13G-26A).

The Wolverines are trying to get back into the win column after losing three straight games. They fell in a pair of games against the Estevan Bruins last weekend, getting outscored 16-3 over the pair of games.

On the scoresheet, Cam Sarna leads the way for the Wolverines in points with 26 points (6G-20A). Pherson Loehndorf is in second on the team with 25 points (7G-18A), while Riley Ritch-Holden is next up with 23 points (11G-12A).

2025 first overall pick Camryn Aebig is set to make his SJHL debut tonight with the Wolverines. The 15-year-old has 21 points (15G-6A) in 32 games this year in AAA with the Tisdale Trojans of the SMAAAHL. The Wolverines sit 4th in the Nutrien Division with a record of 9-24-0-2.

Spencer Michnik will be back in between the pipes tonight for the North Stars after making 39 saves against the Weyburn Red Wings and adding 20 stops in the SJHL record longest shootout in a 3-2 win.
