Lloydminster RCMP arrested a Calgary woman in connection with a break-and-enter at an ATM that resulted in the theft of more than $130,000 in cash.

The incident occurred in the late morning of Dec. 29, 2024, when officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter at an ATM near 39 Avenue and 50 Street in Lloydminster. Investigators determined suspects gained entry into the machine and made off with more than $130,000. Damage and replacement costs for the ATM were estimated at nearly $30,000.

RCMP said an extensive investigation followed, including canvassing local businesses for video surveillance and completing multiple judicial authorizations. Those efforts led police to identify a female suspect.

With assistance from the Calgary Fugitive Apprehension Team, 40-year-old Mandy Breadlaw was located and arrested on 26 outstanding warrants. Police said Breadlaw was held in custody and appeared in Alberta Court of Justice in Wainwright on Thursday.

Breadlaw faces charges of break and enter, mischief over $5,000 and theft over $5,000.

“This investigation required a significant commitment of resources and strong collaboration between multiple policing partners,” said Sergeant Christopher Byford, Lloydminster RCMP.

“The assistance of local businesses and law enforcement partners was critical in identifying and locating the suspect, which helped to bring this investigation to a successful conclusion.”

RCMP thanked local businesses for providing surveillance footage, as well as the Calgary Police Service and the RCMP Southern Alberta General Investigation Section for their assistance.
