North Stars ranked #19 in the country in the CJHL National Rankings

Jan 14, 2026 | 9:58 AM

It’s no secret that the Battlefords North Stars are one of, if not the hottest team in the SJHL. They are 21-8-2-2, sitting in second place in the league and have won eight of their last 10 games.

Climbing the leaderboard, the North Stars have also found themselves on the CJHL national rankings for the first time this year, ranking as the #19 CJHL team in the nation. The Flin Flon Bombers and Weyburn Red Wings are the only other SJHL teams to appear in the national rankings, with Flin Flon at #13 and Weyburn in the honorable mentions.

North Stars head coach Connor Logan said that while it’s nice to have the recognition, he doesn’t want it to impact the team’s mentality.

“Different people interpret something like that differently. For me, it doesn’t change how I go about my business or I think how our team would go out business,” he said.

Logan acknowledged the team could use being in the rankings as a potential incentive to keep working as hard as they have been.

“Hopefully it’s a motivator to push ourselves and hopefully climb the rankings. Certainly, we don’t get to be complacent with it,” said Logan

Through the season, the North Stars have worked incredibly hard to get to where they are and Logan knows to stick with what works for them heading down the home stretch of the season. “Always have to stay even keel with everything and just lean on the things that make you successful. For us, that’s being day-to-day guys and being hard workers and just going about our business the same way.”

This is the first time the North Stars are acknowledged in the national rankings since the week of Nov. 4, 2024 when they were a part of the honorable mentions. The last time they were a part of the top-20 was the week of March. 4, 2024 when they were ranked #13 in the country.

The North Stars will look to continue finding success this season and climbing the national rankings when they face off with the Warman Wolverines on the road on Jan. 16.
