Loyal Comfort Inn and Suites guest wins $10K grand prize in North Battleford

Comfort Inn and Suites North Battleford awarded a loyal customer with $10,000, as part of their 2025 Stay and Win promotion.

Each week, the hotel holds a draw that rewards one customer with a $100 gift card from a local sponsor. All weekly winners then advance to the annual grand draw.

Darin Steinman, who frequently stays at the hotel when in the city for business, was presented with a cheque for his winnings on Jan. 14.

“I was pretty darn happy when I found out. I was in the airport in Mexico, just about to come home,” he said.

Steinman said he will be donating some of the money to a couple of charities; the rest will be spent on himself and his grandchildren.

“I’m going to buy myself some new toys and I need a few pieces of furniture.”

“With nine grandchildren, there’s always ways to spend money around grandchildren. They’ll be getting some items to play with at grandpa’s place and away we go,” he said.

The loyal customer has been staying at the hotel since 2022. Although trying other accommodations, he says this one is ‘the best in town.’

“This is what I look for, clean, and quiet, and the staff that’s going to take care of me. If you’re going to stay in town, this is the place to stay,” said Steinman.

Ella Yargas, general manager at Comfort Inn and Suites, said staff often see frequent long-term guests.

“We have a lot of workers and of course hockey teams that are always coming here. This is our way of just thanking them, just a little tribute to them for staying and of course spreading word of mouth. They can stay here in our hotel and then enjoy the amenities as well,” Yargas said.
