Santa paid a visit to Saskatoon’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital this week, spreading Christmas joy to some of the young patients and families receiving care over the holidays.

The visit was part of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Project Holiday Joy, which also included movie nights at the hospital’s family theatre, craft projects, baking and decorating gingerbread houses.

“Saskatchewan children and families visited with Santa while receiving a special holiday gift and a keepsake photo to commemorate their visit, thanks to the generosity of Graham Construction, Northern Blacktop, Amrize Canada, Suer and Pollon Mechanical and Flynn Saskatoon,” the foundation said in a statement.

Troy Davies, the foundation’s CEO, said the Christmas season should be special for everyone, even at a hospital.

“The holiday season is meant to be a time of warmth and connection, yet for Saskatchewan children and expecting mothers who need care over Christmas, it can also be an especially challenging time,” Davies explained.

“Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and donors, this magical season shines a little brighter inside our hospital walls. Their kindness brings comfort, hope, and moments of joy to children, moms-to-be and the families who need it most.”
