Two homes damaged in Big River fire

Two Big River families are without homes after a fire spread from one home to the next.

Big River Fire Department said it was called out at 8:18 Monday morning where they found two homes on fire.

“Our department was dispatched to a fully engulfed house fire, with the neighbouring home already affected upon arrival. Despite rapid response efforts, the first home was completely destroyed, and the adjacent home sustained significant damage,” said the department on their social media page.

Faced with the extreme cold, fire fighters took on the challenging conditions with a strong crew and worked to bring both fires under control and prevent further spread.

The department said their thoughts are with the families impacted by this devastating fire.
