Battlefords North Stars set for big weekend series with the Flin Flon Bombers

Dec 12, 2025 | 12:17 PM

After winning two of three in their triple header last weekend, the Battlefords North Stars (14-7-2-2, 2nd in Nutrien Division) have a significant test upcoming when they host the Flin Flon Bombers (18-8-0-1, 1st in UPL Division). If the North Stars win tonight, they would move past the Kindersley Klippers into first place in the Nutrien Division.

Flin Flon comes into the weekend in second place in the league, having won 11 of their last 13 contests. They split their series with the Nipawin Hawks last weekend. Landon Alexander led the way for the Bombers with three points (2g, 1a) through two games last weekend.

Throughout the season, Joey Lies leads the Bombers in points with 30 (26g, 14a) in 26 games. Reid Arberry and Maverick Deslisle have 23 points each. Arberry has 12 goals and 11 assists in 26 games, while Deslisle has 9 goals and 14 assists in 25 contests.

In their weekend triple header last weekend, Anthony Campbell led the North Stars in scoring with five points (1g, 4a) in three games. Josh Knittig, Linken Fisher and Kaleb Dewar all had four points each in the three-game stretch.

Campbell’s five-point weekend added to his team-leading 26 points (8g, 18a) in 25 games. Following Campbell in points for the North Stars is Josh Knittig with 25 (8g, 17a), and Gavin Granger with 23 (4g, 19a) in 25 games apiece.

Granger and Campbell head into the weekend on a high note after being named to the SJHL roster for the upcoming Viking Cup in Canmore, AB from Dec. 28 – Jan. 3.

With goaltender Steele Bass recalled by the Prince Albert Raiders, Kaeden Serpa is expected to take on the workload for the North Stars over the weekend. In 15 games played this season, Serpa holds an 8-4-1-1 record (W-L-OTL-SOL) with a .915 save percentage and 3.22 goals against average.

The weekend series comes after the North Stars dealt forward Carson Meyer to the Northern Manitoba Blizzard of the MJHL in exchange for a player development fee.

Tonight’s game is sponsor appreciation night at the Access Communications Centre. The team is also continuing to sell the limited-edition North Stars hockey cards.

Saturday night is the teddy bear toss when fans will throw stuffed animals onto the ice after the North Stars first goal, partnered with WPD Ambulance to help get Christmas gifts to as many kids in the area as possible.

Puck drop for tonight’s edition of Napa Auto Parts North Stars hockey is at 7:30 pm Saskatchewan time. The Ultra Print pregame show begins at 7:00 on CJNB/CJNS.
