Woman charged after fleeing from police near Frenchman Butte

Dec 11, 2025 | 12:08 PM

A 24-year-old woman from Saskatoon was arrested by RCMP officers after failing to stop for officers who wanted to pull her over for speeding near Frenchman Butte.

Combined Traffic Services officers saw a speeding vehicle on December 5, shortly after 3 pm and attempted a traffic stop.

Rather than pull over, the driver attempted to flee but slid into the ditch. The driver and another person got out and ran into the nearby treeline on foot.

The area was contained, and the RCMP Police Dog Service was called in, with a woman arrested shortly afterwards. The second suspect was not found, but a gun was found in the trees.

Inside the vehicle, officers found 44 grams of cocaine, 65 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded rifle and drug trafficking paraphernalia. The vehicle was also stolen.

The woman is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of the stolen vehicle and multiple gun charges.

She made her first court appearance on Thursday.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information should report it to Turtleford RCMP by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
