Sensor-camera upgrade to shut down signals at Highway 16, 40 in North Battleford Nov. 20

Nov 18, 2025 | 1:15 PM

The City of North Battleford is urging motorists to use caution Thursday as traffic lights at the busy intersection of Highways 16 and 40 are shut down for upgrades.

The signals — located beside Parsons Industrial Park — will be turned off for most of the day while new sensor-activated cameras are installed to help improve traffic flow.

Personnel with ATS Traffic will direct vehicles and flag traffic through the area, and speed limits will be reduced approaching the site.

With high traffic volumes at the intersection, drivers are asked to respect on-site direction and exercise caution. Work is expected to wrap up late Thursday, the City said, thanking the public for its cooperation.
