After a 7-5 win on Friday night, the Battlefords North Stars completed the weekend sweep over the Estevan Bruins with an 8-4 victory on the road.

The North Stars went down 1-0 early in the first period when Cash Olson got on the board. A couple minutes later, Owen Dyck responded with his second goal of the season to tie the game.

Later in the first, Drew Williamson tipped an Eric Marks shot through the five hole to give the North Stars a 2-1 lead. Austin Garrett then got his first SJHL goal to make it 3-1 North Stars.

The Bruins got a couple quick goals before the end of the first period from Drew Beasley and Noah Asmundson to tie it up at three heading into the second period.

About seven minutes into the second, Gavin Granger took the puck coast-to-coast down the boards and put it off the post and in to give the North Stars a 4-3 lead. Shortly after, Cash Olsen found Rylan Williams alone in front to tie it.

After that, it was all North Stars on the scoreboard. Adam Konowalchuk found Marks in front in the last few minutes of the period and Marks scored his first SJHL goal. Konowalchuk got one of his own with less than two minutes and the North Stars took a 6-4 lead into the third period.

Konowalchuk got a shorthanded goal from Sam Kirwan in the third period and added an empty netter late to ice the game. The North Stars got 15 total goals over the weekend, taking it 8-4.

After a couple of weekend wins, the North Stars head to Yorkton to face the Terriers on Halloween night. The Ultra Print Services pregame show starts at 6:30 pm, Napa Auto Parts North Stars hockey begins at 7:00 pm on CJNB/CJNS.
