Battlefords North Stars take on the Estevan Bruins on the road

Oct 24, 2025 | 12:37 PM

In the furthest road trip of the year so far for the Battlefords North Stars (4-3-0-2, 3rd in Nutrien Division), the team is in Estevan to face the Bruins Friday night(7-3-2-0, 2nd in Bunge division).

After starting the year 2-3-2-0, the Bruins have now won five straight games, with a 4-2 victory over the Flin Flon Bombers in their last game on Oct. 18. The Bruins have been led on offense so far by Ewan Rennie with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) in 12 games, and former North Star Rylan Williams who has 18 points (6 goals, 12 assists) in 12 games.

The Bruins actually have a few former North Stars this season. Williams along with Alex Scheck, Logan Goodwin and Dylan Adams were traded to the Bruins for Kent Moors in the offseason. However, Moors ended up joining the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the BCHL.

Colton Getzlaff is another former North Star on the Bruins this year. Getzlaff was traded for Kale Margolis, who the North Stars ended up sending to the Melville Millionaires in a move to get Raiden Zacharias.

The North Stars look to get back in the win column after a 4-3 shootout loss against the Warman Wolverines, where they surrendered the tying goal in the last minute of the game.

Gavin Granger leads the North Stars in points this year with 14 (2 goals, 12 assists) in nine games this season. On forward, the team lead in points is tied between Anthony Campbell, Josh Knittig and Kobe Sawyer, who each have eight points.

Battlefords is 2-1-0-1 on the first half of back-to-backs this year, and 2-1-0-2 in road games this year as they try to improve both of those records. The Ultra Print Services pregame show starts at 6:30 p.m., while Napa Auto Parts North Stars hockey begins at 7:00 p.m. on CJNB/CJNS.
