RCMP: Man with nation-wide warrant has connections to North Battleford

Alberta RCMP are seeking public assistance in locating 41-year-old Christian Nyabirungu, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Nyabirungu is wanted for first-degree murder, kidnapping, and aggravated assault in connection with the Sept. 13, 2018, killing of 33-year-old Aldane Mesquita.

Although police issued a photo of Nyabirungu they said his appearance may have changed.

Nyabirungu’s current whereabouts are unknown, but he has ties to North Battleford, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal.

Alberta RCMP warn the public not to approach Nyabirungu. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts are instructed to contact the Alberta RCMP at 310-RCMP (7267), 911, or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-8477.
