Joint police effort in Lloydminster executes 32 warrants, lays 11 charges and more

Jul 29, 2025 | 11:55 AM

A joint enforcement operation in Lloydminster earlier this month resulted in dozens of charges and arrests, RCMP say.

Between July 16 and 19, the Lloydminster RCMP worked with Alberta Sheriffs, RCMP Air Services, Police Dog Services, crime reduction teams from both provinces, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team and the Wilton Police Service.

More than 350 vehicles were stopped. Officers issued 98 provincial violation tickets, seized four vehicles and laid eight impaired driving charges.

Eleven other Criminal Code charges were laid and 32 warrants were executed. Police said other offences included bylaw breaches, suspended drivers and stolen property.

Police said the operation focused on non-compliant drivers, people with outstanding arrest warrants and locations linked to ongoing enforcement concerns.

“Operations such as this deter crime in addition to making drivers become more aware of obeying traffic laws, thus making our city safer” said Const. Jason Decoste of the Lloydminster RCMP in a release issued Tuesday.

“By bringing in partner agencies and other RCMP units we are able to effectively enforce laws with the ultimate goals of crime reduction and enhanced safety for all residents.”

RCMP are asking anyone with information about criminal activity to contact Lloydminster RCMP at 780‑808‑8400. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1‑800‑222‑8477 or online.
