Team Hoffman takes first in New Horizons winter season
The New Horizons Curling League winter season wrapped up last week at the Twin Rivers Curling Club and after 12 weeks of tight competition, Team Hoffman (Al Hoffman, Kate McHarg, Louie Uhrmann, Calvin Vogelsang) ended up taking home the hardware, finishing with an 8-4-0 (W-L-T) record for 16 points to get first place.
Not far behind them in second was Team Welychko who finished with a 7-4-1 record for 15 points, and then in third was Team Crozier, who finished with 14 points, holding a 7-5 record.
Going into the final four weeks of play though, it was Team Welychko that led the three with nine points while Crozier and Hofman both sat with eight. However, that changed when Hofman went on an impressive run, winning four straight matches to end off the season and take first. Crozier and Welychko both went 3-1 in their final four, giving them second and third.
Apart from the New Horizons league, there were four other leagues that wrapped up their season last week as well.
