
School bus driver facing sex assault charges
A 54-year-old bus driver who has now been relieved of his duties is facing several criminal charges that were not connected to his job with the North East School Division.
Court records show the driver is charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference with a person under 16 and a third count of sexual touching of a person who has a mental of physical disability that in a relationship of dependency.
NortheastNOW first learned of the incident from a parent in Choiceland who received a letter saying that a bus driver in the employ of the division had been relieved of his duties.
“We have been notified by the RCMP that a bus driver employed by the North East School Division has been arrested and charged with several offenses unrelated to their duties with the school division,” reads the letter.
