‘Our history’: Sask. Baseball Hall of Fame seeks nominations for milestone 40th induction
The Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Battleford is calling on communities across the province to nominate deserving individuals for its 2025 40th induction class.
Jane Shury, president and CEO of the Hall of Fame, says the annual event is about more than just recognizing talent—it’s about preserving the province’s deep-rooted baseball history.
“Baseball played a big role not just in the settlement but also in the development of our province,” said the 91-year-old. “It was a sport that brought communities together, and this Hall of Fame is how we honour those contributions.”
The Hall of Fame is accepting nominations until March 15. A selection committee made up of baseball experts from across Saskatchewan will choose up to 12 inductees. The induction ceremony, set for Aug. 16, is one of the museum’s biggest events, drawing large crowds and serving as a key fundraiser.
