Lloyd RCSSD No. 89 reports loss of $16K

The Board of Education of Lloydminster Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 89 is reporting a first quarter loss of public money in the amount of $16,399 after a person impersonated a supplier and “misdirected” payments to another bank account.
According to the education media relations, the incident happened in early November and while there were efforts to recover funds, it was unsuccessful, and a police investigation continues.
Meanwhile, the “Ministry of Education has tabled its report to the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.”
