Lloyd man up on drug trafficking; weapons charges
A 63-year-old Lloydminster man is facing multiple drug trafficking and weapons charges after police discovered a drug operation at a home near 47th Street.
Following a search warrant, the Lloydminster RCMP’s General Investigations Section seized “an array” of drugs, money and weaponry including roughly 500 grams of suspected cocaine, 500 grams of suspected fentanyl, roughly 1 kilogram of methamphetamine, over $16,000 of Canadian currency, unstamped tobacco cigarettes and a prohibited firearm.
“This seizure represents a substantial disruption to the illicit drug trade in our community, “ said Cpl. Christopher Byford via a press release.
“The presence of fentanyl in particular, poses a serious risk to public safety, and we remain committed to targeting those who traffic harmful substances.”
