After getting the two-game sweep against the La Ronge Ice Wolves this past weekend, the Battlefords North Stars are back at Access Communications Centre to take on the Notre Dame Hounds this Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2.

Notre Dame currently has the second worst record in the league, sitting at 3-11 with only six points so far.

This will be the fourth and fifth time the Hounds and North Stars will play each other so far this season with the North Stars holding a 2-0-1 record in the past three games against Notre Dame.

Despite the Hounds not having the greatest record, they are a team that can play up to the best of them, and the North Stars found that out earlier this season when they lost 6-5 in overtime to the Hounds even after leading 5-3 in the third.

The North Stars will look get to production from their top four points getters, Nikita Ivashchenko, Rylan Williams, Jackson Allan, and Anthony Campbell, who are all in the top 20 in league scoring.

Justen Maric has also been a big factor so far this season for the North Stars and against Notre Dame this season has two wins, 1.00 goals against average and a .965 save percentage.

For the Hounds, it’s been Nick Beatty, Marko Djordjevic, Ian Buors and Nika Jean who have been the main contributors for the team. They will need to see a lot from these guys if they want to see a closer match up than the last meetings, where they lost 4-1 and 6-1.

Puck drop for both games will be at 7:30 p.m. and there will also be lots of exciting events and promotions happening too.

On Friday night, the North Stars will be unveiling and wearing their new third jersey and on top of that they will also be doing a puck toss during intermission with special prizes to be won and proceeds going to Movember. Plus, a guaranteed $2,000 50/50 from Gold Eagle Lodge.

Then on Saturday there will be a Kramer Trailers shootout along with a toque and mitten toss with all items being donated to the Battlefords District Food Bank and Resource Centre. Plus, a $1,500 guaranteed 50/50 from Culligan water.

You can listen to Friday night’s game on CJNB/CJNS and Saturday night’s game on 93.3 Beach with pregame show starting at 7 p.m. for both games.
