As the provincial election draws near, the Saskatchewan Green Party wants to help the province “Move Forward Together.”

Their platform centers around ending poverty, healthcare reform and climate action. Focusing on affordability, offering a living wage and creating a guaranteed livable income, the Green Party hopes to reduce poverty by developing a housing first program that was modeled on an initiative in Finland.

Turning to their healthcare platform, the Greens are looking to overall the sector by focusing on the social and environmental factors along working to promote a proactive wellness plan in all areas that include pharmacare, sexual and dietary health.

The third platform for the party is to move the province away from fossil fuels and explore sustainable energy forms.

In the Battlefords, Sara Paitrofsky is running to be the next MLA for the area, Candice Turner will run in Meadow Lake, Holly Ennis in Cutknife-Turtleford and Patrick McNally in Lloydminster. BattlefordsNOW reached out to the Green Party for profiles on the candidates but have yet to receive a response.
