Roy Shortt is the newest Millionaire in Lloydminster after winning $1 million on the September 17th LOTTO MAX draw.

Optimistic and excited with what he will be able to do with the winnings, Shortt almost couldn’t believe that he won when he scanned the ticket.

“I scanned on the app probably a dozen times,” Shortt laughed. “I also scanned it once instore just to be doubly sure!” “I always buy LOTTO MAX during high jackpots,” he added.

This win has now given Shortt the opportunity to do things he never thought were possible.

“I realized owning a home would finally be possible for me,” he said. “And I’m looking for one that is really accessible, because I have M.S. and want to make sure I can get around if it gets worse.” “I’ve already started looking for my perfect home!” he beamed. “As soon as I saw I had won I started looking at houses.”

The first person the new millionaire told about the big win was his brother.

“We talked about it for a long time,” Shortt said. “This win is really giving me peace and a sense of relief with the unknowns. It’ll be good to put some into savings and have a safety net if I can’t work in the future.”

Short also said that with the win, he can meet some of his long-time online friends, who he never imagined he’d be able to meet.

“I play a lot of online games and have very good friends across Canada and the U.S. that I’ve never met,” he smiled. “I’ll finally get to take a trip and meet them!” “I have Christmas ornaments that were sent to me by one of my friends’ kids and I have them up all year round. I just can’t believe I’ll finally get to meet them!”
