Green energy and green jobs is the focus for SGP candidate Patrick McNally

Oct 3, 2024 | 8:00 AM

Saskatchewan Green Party (SGP) Candidate for Lloydminster, Patrick McNally is focusing his sights on the future for the province.

It’s been the hard work and long hours of farm life that have helped shape the determination and versatility of McNally. Since being raised on a farm near Rowatt, he has spent years working in building management, renovations and janitorial services.

It was in 2005 when McNally met former leader of the SGP, Victor Lau, that his political thinking turned Green.

From supporting workers’ rights and the transition to clean energy to having a clear scientific vision for Saskatchewan’s environmental future that puts communities first, those are just some of the reasons he encourages people to elect the SGP.

McNally calls for a provincial increase of the minimum wage. He encourages the dismissal of a government he calls anti-union. He also is keeping note of the current rise of robotics and artificial intelligence in the work force.

McNally promotes a universal Guaranteed Liveable Income (GLI) program to replace the current array of income supports.

He also predicts a huge expansion in the amount of green jobs that will be available as the province will begin to lean towards their abundance of renewable energy sources if the SGP is elected.
