A third-generation rancher is once again hoping to keep his Sask. Party seat in Cut Knife-Turtleford after being acclaimed this past spring.

James Thorsteinson, the Maidstone-based candidate, has spent the majority of his life in agriculture, according to his candidate profile on the party’s website.

Over the years, the cattle rancher has volunteered for local 4H events. As a mental health advocate, he was a board member for Lloydminster’s Libbie Young Centre.

Meanwhile, from 2014-23, he was president of the party.
