Kelli Hawtin will not run for NB mayor

There’s been a change in Kelli Hawtin’s campaign plans.

Taking to social media Wednesday afternoon, The North Battleford councillor announced she will not run for mayor this year calling, citing a necessary choice.

“Timing is everything, and right now the demands of my business and family require a great deal of my time and attention,” she wrote in a Facebook post.

Hawtin said although she will not be running for the top seat, she will once again run for council and has hope the person who is able to step forward will “have the energy to have success and the time to give” to help the move the city forward.

Once again seeking to serve another term as councillor, she’s “excited to continue to be a part of the “growth, morale, development and positivity” and said perhaps in another four years, she’ll be ready to take on the challenge of mayor.
