RCMP seeking help in locating wanted man in connection with shooting

Cut Knife RCMP are asking the public for help in locating a wanted 33-year-old man.

Back on Sunday, officers were called to the Little Pine First Nation for reports of a shooting.

Investigation determined man approached man outside of a home and shot a firearm. The shot hit the second man where he was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious. The shooter then fled in a vehicle and struck another vehicle while doing so.

As a result of continued investigation, a warrant for the arrest of Bradley Kahmahkotayo from Little Pine First Nation has been issued, and he has since been charged with one count each of:

– aggravated assault, Section 268, Criminal Code;

– uttering threats, Section 264.1(1)(a), Criminal Code;

– discharge firearm with intent, Section 244(b), Criminal Code;

– careless use of a firearm, Section 86(1), Criminal Code;

– possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88(1), Criminal Code;

– possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, Section 94(1), Criminal Code;

– assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code;

– dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, Section 320.13(1), Criminal Code; and

– fail to comply with undertaking, Section 145(4)(a), Criminal Code.

Kahmahkotayo is described as 5’11” and 240 lbs with black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on his neck and a small tattoo under one of his eyes. Police believe he may be in the Little Pine First Nation or Lloydminster areas, but that is unconfirmed. Officers are actively trying to locate him.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts, or who sees Kahmahkotayo, is being urged to contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
