New website for N.B. election

A website for all things elections in North Battleford is now up and running ahead of the Nov. 13 vote.

According to a press release, the website will be “a one-stop-shop” for residents to learn all they need to know about how the election will work and how they may participate.

Earlier this summer, city council announced spending caps will be placed on campaigns – $10,455 for mayoral candidates and $5,227.50 for prospective city councilors along with submitting a criminal record check.

According to the release, any campaign contributions must be “disclosed within three months after the election” and include “the contributor’s full name, business name, and the cumulative contribution amount if exceeding $250 must be disclosed.”

Meanwhile, dates have been set. The nomination will run from September 25 to October 9, advance polls will be open Saturday, Nov. 2, from noon to 6 p.m. Thursday Nov. 7, from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9, from noon to 6 p.m.

Election day will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
