Manhunt in Saskatchewan for armed robbery suspects: RCMP

Saskatchewan RCMP are looking for two men in connection with an armed robbery in Edmonton and an incident in Cut Knife on Saturday.

Police said in a news release that Cut Knife RCMP received a report of a theft at a business on Frontage Road in Cut Knife around 3 p.m. on Aug. 10, where the two men did not pay for fuel.

A witness had followed the men’s vehicle to Sweetgrass First Nation area, police said, when the vehicle pulled over and the occupants pointed a firearm at the witness. No one was injured.

The men are believed to be driving a silver 2017 Toyota Camry with Alberta plate E16 163. The vehicle was stolen from the Edmonton area on Aug. 7.

Police also said the men were involved in an armed robbery in Leduc, Alberta earlier on Saturday.

Around at 4 p.m. Battlefords RCMP officers saw the vehicle on Sweetgrass First Nation and unsucessfully attempted a traffic stop.

Police said they are actively hunting for the men and their vehicle and the men should not be approached.

The investigation continues. If an imminent risk to public safety is identified, we will notify the public.
